Extra Curricular Programs

At Karoo PS we are proud to provide a range of extracurricular programs. Students who participate in extracurricular activities have greater opportunities to develop social, communication and leadership skills. Research strongly supports that students who have access to and engage in extracurricular programs have higher engagement in their learning.

Karoo students have the opportunity to participate in a range of extra-curricular programs in a variety of ways. These activities change according to availability of staff and student needs. They may include:

• Sport events (both team and individual)
• Performing Arts opportunities (school performance and State School Spectacular)
• High Ability Extension Program
• Instrumental music tuition
• Kids Hope program
• Lunchtime clubs
• Whole school events (such as athletics carnival, AFL and Cricket Roadshows, Karoo Christmas Carols)
• State School Spectacular Dance and Mass Choir
• Intergenerational Programs
